WhatsApp drops new feature to find your chats much faster

Meta-owned WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature called Lists, designed to help users organize and filter their chats more effectively. The feature comes as an evolution of the Chat Filters introduced earlier this year in April, which allowed users to search for specific chats without scrolling through their entire inbox. According to WhatsApp, the Lists feature was developed in response to positive feedback about the Chat Filters. With Lists, users can now create custom categories to organize their conversations, such as family, work, or local community groups. This allows for easier access to the chats that matter most when needed.

To create or edit a list, users can click the + button in the filter bar at the top of the Chats tab, or long-press an existing list to make changes. Like the “favourites” feature, both group and one-on-one chats can be added to custom lists. Once created, each list will appear in the filter bar for quick access. WhatsApp confirmed that the new feature is being rolled out and will be available to all users in the coming weeks. The platform also hinted at future updates to expand the functionality of Lists, further improving the user experience.

All-new Suzuki Swift arrives in South Africa: pricing and features

The all-new Suzuki Swift has officially launched in South Africa, showcasing a complete redesign both inside and out, along with a new engine. Despite the updates, pricing remains fairly consistent with the previous model, which started at R213,900. The entry-level Swift 1.2 GL is now priced at R219,900, available exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission, and comes with additional features compared to the previous base version. The Swift 1.2 GL+ sits in the mid-range, priced at R239,900 for the manual and R259,900 with the new CVT gearbox. The top-spec 1.2 GLX starts at R264,900 for the manual and R284,900 with CVT.

A standout improvement in the new model is its increased safety features. All variants now come standard with six airbags (up from two) and ESP stability control. In terms of standard equipment, the Swift GL includes features like digitally-operated air conditioning, electric windows, electrically adjustable mirrors, and rear parking sensors, while riding on 14-inch steel wheels. The GL+ adds a 7.0-inch touchscreen with reverse camera, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and 15-inch alloy wheels. The top-of-the-range GLX offers further upgrades, including a 9.0-inch infotainment system, fully automatic climate control, cruise control, and automatic LED headlights. The GLX also comes with stylish diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels.

Under the hood, the new Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 60kW and 112Nm of torque. While slightly less powerful than the previous four-cylinder engine, Suzuki claims the new engine offers better torque delivery across a wider range, thanks to an updated multi-point injection system. The new Suzuki Swift comes with a two-year or 30,000km service plan and a promotional five-year or 200,000km warranty for added peace of mind.
